What AAVATtype is, what it is not, what it can honestly tell you, and where to get help if you need it. This is the page to read if you are deciding how much weight to put on a result.

What AAVATtype is

A self-reflection tool. It asks you about yourself and reads the patterns in your answers back to you in plain language, with the reasoning shown. Everything it tells you comes from the answers you gave on the day you gave them. It is something to think with, and it is meant to open a question rather than close one.

What AAVATtype is not

It is not therapy, treatment or counselling. It is not a psychological, psychiatric or medical assessment. It does not diagnose anything, it does not screen for any condition, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. Nothing here is medical, psychological or legal advice, and nothing here replaces care from a qualified professional who knows you.

Using AAVATtype does not create a practitioner and client relationship of any kind, and no reading, profile or signature should be understood as one.

Not for decisions about other people

Do not use an AAVATtype result to hire, fire, select, promote, rank, screen or assess anyone. Do not use one in any clinical, legal, custody, immigration, insurance or safety decision. This applies to your own result and to anyone else's.

A profile is a description, not a prediction. It says something about how a person sees themselves, and it says nothing about what they are capable of. Nobody should be disadvantaged anywhere because of what it says.

The limits of what it can tell you

It rests on self report. It reflects how you saw yourself while you were answering, and that can move with your mood, your week and what you had in mind at the time.
Comparisons to other people are drawn from interim reference norms and stay indicative until the calibration work is finished.
Readings are written at the level of a band rather than an exact score, so they describe a range rather than a precise point.
Personality patterns are not fixed. A result is a snapshot, not a verdict, and answering again at a different time can reasonably give you a different picture.

Where the science comes from, and what that does not mean

AAVATtype is built on established, publicly available research traditions and open item pools rather than a private questionnaire of our own invention. That means you can check the working, and it is the reason we show it.

It does not mean a result is a clinical measurement, and it does not mean the research behind any one part of it is settled. Where something is still being calibrated or is less certain, we would rather say so on this page than let the word "science" carry more weight than it has earned.

Where artificial intelligence is used, and where it is not

AAVATtype uses artificial intelligence in several parts of the product and in how it is produced. We would rather set that out plainly than have you work it out.

Voice. Any narration you hear from AAVATtype is synthetic. It is generated by a voice model, including where that voice is built from recordings of a real person and sounds like them. You are not listening to a recording of someone speaking to you.
Images and video. Avatars, personas and much of the imagery and video we publish are generated by artificial intelligence. They do not depict real people or real events, and no avatar is a practitioner.
Written readings. Where a reading is written or extended by artificial intelligence, that text is machine generated. It can be wrong, and it is offered for your consideration rather than as a finding about you.
Running the product. Artificial intelligence assists with producing our content, scheduling it, and drafting and handling correspondence, including messages and comments on our own accounts.

What is not generated: your scores. They are calculated from the answers you give by a fixed method, and the same answers always produce the same scores and the same mark. The measurement is arithmetic. It is the interpretation around it, and the way it is presented to you, that involves artificial intelligence.
